Introduction to RRD profile

The RRD DataBase profiles are use in LoriotPro to define similar RRD database setup. They can be used and reused and avoid to redefine complex settings each time that you want to create a new RRD database. Profiles define the global properties of the RRD database, the list of data sources, the archive structures and consolidation algorithms. The profile is used during the RRD database creation. Thus it is necessary to have a profile prior to any database creation.

After than a RRD database file and structure is created, you cannot changed it without loosing any collected stored data.
