Report Scheduler

Introduction

The Report Scheduler allows you to schedule the automatic generation of report at regular intervals. Report could be the result and the concatenation of multiple report script files.
The generated report could be saved in the user directory or global directory and thus be available to WEB remote console user(s).
The report Scheduler uses Report Script File as entries ( .rep extension) and provides Report as output file with .html extension). Reports are displayed by a common WEB navigator.
A set of scripts could be saved as a template file and re used in other Plug-in attached to other hosts.

Installation

Like other LoriotPro Directory Plug-in the Report Scheduler is attached to a Directory Host object. In the directory select the host to which you want to attach the Plug-in and from the contextual menu select -> Insert Task -> Report Scheduler.

Using Report Scheduler

After installation you get the Plug-in attached to your host.

If you click on the Report Scheduler plug-in in the directory you open the following Dialog box.

The window's fields are described in the table below

Field Description
IP SNMP Agent The IP address and Name of the host on which this Plug in is running
Parse Current Script Current activity logger
Parameter Files  
Display Last Generated Report Display in your default WEB navigator the last generated report.
Display All generated Reports Display the contents of the Global Report directory accessible from the Remote console
/bin/www/rep
Report Input Script Files List of file (Report Script File) to be processed
Html Report output File The report containing the concatenation of all the processed input file in WEB format
Schedule Report Each The generation will be performed at regular intervals
Each … Minutes The time interval in minutes
Timestamp output file name Include the time stamp in the output files name.
Insert Insert a new script in the list before the current selected script
Add Add a script file at the end of the list.
Edit Open for editing the current selected script file
Load from Template Load the configuration from an existing template.
Save as Template Save the current configuration as a template.
Browse out Display the contents of the User Report directory accessible from the Remote console - bin/www/log

The Save as Template allows you to save the current set of script file in a template file. The template file could be re used when configuring another Report Scheduler attached to another host of the directory.

The Input script files list are saved in the Scheduler Report Template.

The ouput file is in HTML format and can be see with Internet Explorer. Both Buttons, the Display Last Report and Display All Generated Report will do that. The first, immediatly displays the most recently generated report, the second opens the list of report in a dialog box, it's up to you to choose one for displaying it.
