The direct plugin Active View Box is a visual virtual representation of a SNMP device. The device can be a router or a switch Ethernet (example below with a Switch Alcatel), but this may be a Windows or Linux server or any snmp device.
The representation of the equipment is extrapolated from information collected by SNMP on the MIB 2 SNMP objects and mainly on the table of network interfaces.
Depending of the interfaces found and SNMP indexes, equipment is designed in the form of a standard chassis with daughterboard for each unit.
